The next GSA meeting is next week: Tuesday, March 24th, at 5:30 pm in the 21st Century Classroom, DTL 4.476.2T (click here for map) on the fourth floor of the Dental School.
The meeting will be led by Dr. Robin Zuniga from the Office of the President, who will lead a discussion with grad students about the Quality Enhancement Plan that is critical for UTHSCSA’s accreditation.
IT IS IMPORTANT FOR STUDENTS TO COME TO THIS MEETING WITH THE PRESIDENT’S OFFICE. PLEASE MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO ATTEND
What is the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) and why should grad students care?
The QEP is a faculty/staff/student-driven effort to close gaps in student learning as a requirement of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. The QEP task force will review data on student learning and select several potential areas in which student education might be improved. These areas will be presented to the Heath Science Center community to be discussed and implemented.
As graduate students, it is important for your opinions on the quality of your education to be heard. Has the Health Science Center appropriately prepared you in your research program so that when you graduate, you will feel confident about your capabilities and preparedness for life after you earn your degree? Are there key areas in which you feel your education here is lacking? Your input is necessary for the QEP to sufficiently address the needs of grad students AT UTHSCSA.
